National Children’s Choir
This year the boys from the three Fourth classes and the three Fifth classes are taking part in the National Children’s Choir. The boys have been working hard since September learning songs for the main concerts which will take place on May 15th and 16th 2013.
The boys were given the task of learning 15 songs in total. These include songs in English, Irish, Latin and Italian. We have also learned a beautiful song which includes sign language called “Can You Hear Me?” One of the boys’ favourites is “Cantate Domino Alleluia” and it can be heard being sung around Celbridge, especially as we walk to our swimming lessons!
Every few months we get together with the girls from St Brigid’s National School to practice. These are always great days and to hear the boys and the girls singing together is really wonderful.
This is the first year Kildare schools are going to perform in their own concerts. These will take place in City West Convention Centre in May. The boys are really looking forward to performing for an audience and are planning their hairstyles already!!
